Frequently Asked Questions

Can anyone come to church?

Anyone can come to church, it doesn’t have to be for a service, but the doors are open if you would like to want to pray, or sit for a bit of peace and quiet, or listen to some of the daily office. Everyone is invited and all are welcome.

Does it matter if my baby makes a noise?

No! Jesus said ‘let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them’, it’s lovely to hear the sound of children in church. If for any reason they aren’t settling, we have a children's corner where there are toys etc, and plenty of space if they need it.

We also have a Junior church at the 9.45am Sunday Service with activities and stories. (See the Junior Church page for more information)

How do I find out what's happening at St Gabriel’s?

There are many different ways of finding out what's going on at St Gabriel's - we have a Weekly News-sheet that will give notices and service details for the upcoming week. The Website is full of information and has the Calendar which is updated monthly and we have a free Monthly Magazine to pick up from the back of Church.  We also have a Facebook site for notices and events and the Parish office is open every morning on 0191 265 5843 if you need further information on anything.

If you have a question you would like to ask, please email your question to the Parish Office (stgabriel.heaton@gmail.com) ! No question is too big or too small and don't be afraid to ask a question on anything to do with our church, religion or faith, social activities, how to join one of the rotas, be a volunteer or join a group; in fact, anything!
